Why Consistency is Key to Successful Marketing

Writing content to market your business is one of the best ways for you to grab the attention of potential customers, and to stand out amongst your many competitors. Content is an effective way of bringing those readers to your website in the first place, but you need consistency to help keep them there! Consistency in content marketing essentially means giving customers what they want – high quality content at regular times. Audiences will rely on your information as genuine, reliable, and well-written, so you want to continually ensure that by posting to a schedule. Don’t leave it too long before posts as you need to remind readers that you are one of the leaders of your industry – regardless of the size of your business – while showing them exactly what your brand is about. Here are some of the benefits from keeping consistent:

  • You will become an established authority within your industry.
  • You will strengthen your brand.
  • You will be able to connect with multiple audiences.
  • You will boost your SEO.
  • Your audience will be able to rely on you for content updates.
  • You will give your visitors a reason to return.
  • You will be able to capture lead information in return for newsletters or eBooks.

By ensuring you are consistent in your content marketing, you will be showing that you know an immense amount of information about your field, and then projecting that upon your visitors. In fact, by really thinking about the content you put out in the first place, you’ll be improving your website and your brand as a whole.

How does Google fit in here?

Well, perhaps the largest benefit of being consistent in your marketing is the improved SEO. In fact, your rankings can be boosted largely simply by publishing new content regularly, as Google will do their magic and index your website more often, therefore giving it more chance to appear in searches. How can I be consistent with my content easily?

Well the best way to do this is to create a content publishing plan; after all, those marketers who document strategy are a whopping 538% more likely to report success than those who don’t. Pretty convincing, huh?  Plan exactly what you publish, when you will publish, and where you will publish. This includes on any social media websites, your blog (of course), along with email and such. If you have a plan, you will more than likely stick to it! If you don’t create your own content in-house, it’ll still be very much worthwhile to have a plan, and to ensure that the people you are working with remotely are on the same page.

As you can see, consistency is definitely key to improving your brand. If you want to improve your ranking on Google and also gain a great reputation from your readers, then it is worthwhile putting that little bit more effort into the content you produce and ensure that it is informative, interesting, fun, and easily readable. Good luck!
